In 2021, exports of goods from Florida reached $56 billion, representing an impressive 3.4% of total United States exports. The region is the eighth largest exporter in the United States, emphasizing its importance in the global marketplace.

Florida’s main exports are a variety of goods, including automobiles, airplanes, engines and parts, telecommunications equipment, computers, components, and precious metals such as gold. However, in addition to these industries, the state is active in exporting waste and scrap, agricultural products, seafood, livestock, minerals, forest products, oil and gas.

Florida’s unique geographic location makes it an ideal base for trade transactions with Latin America, the Caribbean, and other regions of the world. More than 17% of all U.S. exports to Latin America and the Caribbean pass through Florida, emphasizing its importance as a gateway to the global economy.
