Up and Coming Companies to Watch in Southwest Florida
Southwest Florida is known for many things, including its beautiful beaches, enjoyable weather, and thousands of tourist attractions.
However, if you’ve been paying attention, there are several up and coming companies in the region that are making waves. Not only are these companies moving to the top of their respective industries, but they’re also helping to boost the local economy.
In August 2019, GrowFL, an economic development group, along with the Edward Lowe Foundation, named three Southwest Florida companies to its “Companies to Watch” list. They include:
- Cottrell Title & Escrow (Naples)
- Mettauer Environmental (Alva)
- VeraData (Fort Myers)
Selected from hundreds of nominees, these three companies are expected to achieve positive growth in the years to come.
Here are some statistics associated with the 50 second-stage companies on the list:
- The companies have anywhere from six to 150 full-time employees
- Annual revenue ranging from $750,000 to $100 million
- The 50 winners expect to achieve job growth of 36.8 percent over 2018
Speaking of 2018, five companies from Southwest Florida made the list last year. They include:
- ArgoTrak (Naples)
- Vectra Digital (Fort Myers)
- Oasis Senior Advisors (Bonita Springs)
- Benseron Hospitality (Naples)
- AXI International (Fort Myers)
Tom O’Neal, GrowFL’s executive director, had this to say about the 2018 list:
“These stand-out companies are all led by entrepreneurs and have demonstrated their capacity and intent to grow. They also have critical intellectual property or a niche position that gives them a competitive edge in their markets.”
When you take into consideration the three companies from 2019 and five companies from 2018, Southwest Florida is well represented on the GrowFL “Companies to Watch” lists for the past two years.
As these eight companies continue to have a positive impact on the local economy, it’ll be interesting to see which organizations become part of this prestigious club in 2020.
