SWFL Economic Development Alliance Visits Paris

southwest florida economic development alliance goes to paris Eric Berglund joined business representatives from the Naples Accelerator across the sea to beautiful Paris, France to meet with the French Innovation Network, RETIS. RETIS has visited southwest Florida twice between 2015 and 2016. During these visits, they have brought six companies with them to tour the sunshine state.

About RETIS

For the past 20 years, the RETIS Innovation Network has been supporting and accompanying its members as they develop innovative projects in France. Through their efforts, the RETIS Network has helped over 10,000 companies. RETIS currently have 91 members, including:

  • 14 BICs
  • 29 technopoles
  • 14 classified as BICs and technopoles
  • 23 public incubators
  • 10 private incubators
  • 5 competitiveness clusters
  • 10 other structures, of which 6 partnering members

With over 800 professionals and than 10,000 innovative enterprises assisted by the RETIS, the network grows more innovative each year. They remain successful as well with 80% of companies surviving past their five-year mark. Currently, the principal sectors of activity are:

  1. ICT (Information and Communication Technologies)
  2. Life Sciences
  3. Engineering Sciences
  4. Clean Technologies
